Speakers at a joint seminar will be discussing a variety of topics at the upcoming Florida United Numismatists (FUN) show. The seminar will be hosted by the Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA) and will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, in room 25 of the Tampa Convention Center.
The speakers will be Ray Gregson (National Association for Compliance & Security), ICTA legislative consultant Jimmy Hayes (Washington Matters), ICTA Minnesota Action Committee chair Philip Diehl (U.S. Money Reserve), and Minnesota dealer Gary Adkins (Gary Adkins Associates, Inc.).
Gregson will speak about understanding the regulations on cash reporting (when to report—or not) and money laundering (bank closures and government seizures). Hayes will provide updates on the Marketplace Fairness Act and Operation Choke Point.
Diehl and Adkins will report on the Minnesota Action Committee’s negotiations to change the Bullion Coin Dealer Law with the state’s Department of Commerce.
“We encourage all dealers at the show to attend the seminar and learn the latest on the regulations for cash reporting and money laundering,” said ICTA executive director Kathy McFadden. “Dealers also need to learn how the Marketplace Fairness Act, Operation Choke Point, and Bullion Coin Dealer Law could affect their businesses.”
