Adam and Eve has been introduced as the third coin of the 2016 Scottsdale Mint Biblical Series

The Biblical Coin Series by the Scottsdale Mint showcases iconic stories from the Bible that have been told and re-told for centuries. This third coin of 2016 displays one of the first stories in the Bible – the story of Adam and Eve in Eden. This is one of the most recognizable stories not only of this series, but of the Bible as well.

This 2 oz coin is cast out of .999 fine Silver and depicts Gabriel at the gates of Eden exiling Adam and Eve. In the book of Genesis, God told Adam and Eve they may not eat the forbidden fruit. Eve is persuaded by the serpent and eats from the tree, leading to both Adam and Eve to be exiled from the Garden of Eden.

“The depiction of Adam and Eve is essential to this coin series,” APMEX Vice President of Merchandising Andrew Martineau said. “This is one of the first stories anyone reads from the Bible and because the story shows that all actions have consequences, everyone can relate.”

The 2 oz Silver Adam and Eve coin has a limited mintage of 1,499 and is not a coin to miss. Each coin comes with a certificate of authenticity, giving the coin’s minting specifications, a unique serial number that matches the laser-etched number on the coin and the story of Adam and Eve. The certificate also features Gustave Doré’s artwork, Adam and Eve Driven Out of Eden (1866), the design was based off.

The Scottsdale Mint issues the coin by the authority of the island of Niue, where it is legal tender.
