By CoinWeek News Staff ….
Historian. Military Analyst. Gentleman game designer. Numismatist.
Author Mike Markowitz is many things, and one of those things happens to be CoinWeek’s resident expert on Ancient Coins. Twice monthly, CoinWeek has the privilege and the pleasure of bringing you the latest in his series of exploratory articles, covering the entire spectrum of ancient numismatics one theme at a time.
And the best thing about Mike’s work is how he takes what could be an impenetrable, intimidating topic and makes it accessible and–dare we say–fun, to beginners and experts alike.
So CoinWeek is proud to announce that Mike will be giving a presentation adapted from one such article at the Summer Whitman Baltimore Coin Expo, which started on July 16 and runs through 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, July 19. Mike will give a lecture about the portrayal of ships and other seafaring vessels on ancient coins on Saturday, July 18 at 2:00 p.m. in room 301 of the Baltimore Convention Center.
Regular admission to the show is free, and so is Mike’s lecture. If you’re attending the Baltimore Coin Expo, we highly recommend you save the date and check out Mike Markowitz’ Ships on Ancient Coins.
