Another Star-Spangled Whitman Baltimore Expo Auctions, Lectures, Club Meetings, & More

When the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Baltimore Expo gets underway here, June 28-July 1, the Official Stack’s Bowers Galleries Auction and the Presidential Coin & Antique Company Auction 82 Exonumia Sale will be among the highlights.

The Official Baltimore Auction features the Anne Kate Collection of Morgan Dollars and other important collections. Auction lot viewing begins at 12 noon, Monday, June 25, in Room 307. [Visit StacksBowers.com for the latest on this important auction event.]

Whitman Expo Coin Show BaltimoreThe Presidential Coin & Antique Company will also hold its Auction 82 Exonumia Sale. Most major areas of exonumia will be well represented. Dealer setup will take place on Thursday, June 28 from 8am until Noon. The Expo will open to the public at Noon on Thursday and at 10am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Early Birds will be admitted at 10am on Thursday and 9am all other days.

Friday afternoon the Maryland State Numismatic Association continues its annual distinguished lecturer series. Professional numismatist, author, and educator Donald Kagin is this year’s speaker. His presentation is entitled “Our Nation’s First Circulating Currency: The Treasury Notes of the War of 1812.” The lecture starts at 2 p.m., Friday, June 29, in room 301.

Don’t miss seeing the Proof and uncirculated commemorative Star-Spangled Banner coins, a special exhibit sponsored by the Maryland War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission.

  • Ancient Numismatic Society of Washington, DC, 3pm – Room 301

Professor Gabriel Vlahovici-Jones will present “Faces of Cleopatra: Myths, Masks, and Trademarks” as part of the Ancient Numismatic Society of Washington, DC meeting.

Kid’s Korner, created exclusively for beginners and budding young numismatists will operate on Friday and Saturday from 10am until 6pm.
