By Canadian Numismatic Company….
It is our pleasure to welcome all collectors and dealers to the October 2015 TOREX Auction Sale.
This auction, held in conjunction with the TOREX Coin Show, features nearly 1,300 numismatic lots focused on two major collections and joined by selections from 49 other consignors across North America. One of the highlights is the Bob Kerby collection of Canadian Large and Small Cents, featuring an impressive offering of Gem Full Red Copper coins, including many of the finest known examples. Also included is the continuation of the Phil Harter collection of Banknotes featuring some newly-discovered Chartered banknotes and super high grade Dominion of Canada notes. To cap off this fantastic sale will be the King of Canadian Coins, a 1921 50 Cent in solid VG condition.
The TOREX Auction Sale offers a fantastic almost complete set of Canadian Large and Small Cents from the Kerby Collection. Almost every example offered is in Mint to Gem Mint State condition, many top graded or tied for best known. We also offer some rare and unique Banknotes from the Harter Collection. This Selection offers some interesting Dominion and Chartered note issues that should definitely attract interests.
We also have the pleasure of offering a couple very interesting issues from the Welland Collection, including an 1866 $5 Union Bank of Lower Canada and an Unlisted 1866 $10 Bank of Lower Canada with Ottawa overprint. A unique La Banque D’Hochelaga 1874 $5 note is bound to attract much attention.
The bulk lots and Good to VG coins, banknotes & tokens also deserve a close look.
We are proud to present this public, mail, fax, telephone, e-mail and Internet live auction. We expect this to be one of the most prestigious numismatic events of 2015 featuring several rarities never offered to the public. All material can be viewed starting at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23 at the Hyatt Regency on King in downtown Toronto.
Our sincere thanks to TOREX management for choosing us once again as the October 2015 official TOREX auctioneers and, most importantly, to the consignors for entrusting us with the task of selling their fantastic collections.
We hope you enjoy this catalogue as much as we enjoyed making it. We hope you can make it to downtown Toronto this Fall, this should be a memorable sale!
