Coins and Currency From US, Canada on Tap at ANA World’s Fair of Money Signature Auctions: Heritage

Heritage Auctions - World's Fair of Money 2019

The 2019 American Numismatic Association (ANA) World’s Fair of Money® will be held in Chicago on August 13-17, 2019, and once again Heritage is the official auctioneer. Here is just a taste of what will be offered:

The Joan Zieg Steinbrenner Collection of gold rarities includes the extraordinary John Jay Pittman 1843 three-piece gold proof set, which includes a trio of exceptionally rare gold proofs: the 1843 quarter eagle, half eagle, and eagle. Fewer than half a dozen examples of these three proofs exist, including one set that is missing. The Joan Zieg Steinbrenner Collection also includes an incomparably rare, unique 1830 BD-1 half eagle that was missing from even the Eliasberg and Bass Collections. Nor does the Smithsonian Institution have a proof 1830 half eagle.

The Alan V. Weinberg Collection, Part II includes a spectacular group of medals, including one of only two known 1857 Central America Fund Committee Lifesaving medals, and five impressive, large-size gold medals.

Morgan dollar collectors will find many examples of interest in the Perfection Collection, Part II that includes a Deep Mirror Prooflike 1889-CC dollar – as fresh as the day it was minted – plus many other high-grade, key pieces that are sure to delight the legions of advanced Morgan dollar specialists and Registry Set participants.

Canadian collectors will have plenty to choose from, including selections from the extensive George Hans Cook Collection, one of the most complete collections of Canadian coinage ever formed, rivaling the Belzberg Collection that we sold in 2003. Rarities in the Cook Collection include the famous 1911 Specimen dollar, specimen examples of the 1936 “Dot” cent and the 1936 “Dot” 10 cents, among many others.

The Cape Coral Collection of German 3 Marks offers a wonderful selection of early 20th-century pieces from the various German states; all wonderful Mint State and proof examples, and possibly the finest collection of the type ever assembled.

Our offering of banknotes includes many high-grade rarities, and a selection of iconic design types from the Yuri Solovey Collection. An attractive $5,000 Federal Reserve Note, a Serial Number 1 1934 $1,000, and the finest graded 1934A $10 North Africa Star note are also on offer.

We would be happy to offer your coins and currency in these auctions, as well. If the time is right to sell your material, call our consignment hotline at 1-800-872-6467, x1000 today.
