A DECEMBER TO REMEMBER

We were surprised at how active this past week was. It wasn’t a mad house or anything, just even keel business. Very proud to say the biggest coin we sold was a $3 1886 PCGS MS65 CAC. That coin was the last coin we could never find for a set that has now morphed in to the #1 all-time MS $3 Collection! Congrats to the owner.

Even though they are not sales, we had many “nibbles” on several of our bigger coins that are posted. We are highly confident sales will follow next week.

At this point we are convinced everyone was completely paralyzed by the election. The day after, people were asking us about the “Trump effect”. Until now there was none. Each day we see more people returning to their normal buying habits. No one we know fled to Canada. In fact, we will tell you that today the “Trump effect” IS hitting the coin market. Coins are clearly selling again–one at a time. REAL quality and REAL rarity are clearly in demand at ALL levels. Only generics still lag.

Fair warning that one day you might wake up and–despite the fact demand has increased–the supply of REAL coins will be NON-EXISTENT. You can’t pass up the odd rarity being offered today for 10-20% too much. Down the road, you’ll be looking at price increases that will make your head spin. The great coins really do go into deep black holes never to reappear for very long periods of time. Just look around. Where are all the Pogue, Gardner and Newman coins that for the brief time they were being sold hurt the market?

Stick with quality and eye appeal (our motto: There is no exception for true quality). It’s something we will forever be a broken record over and be totally right about.

FUN AUCTION/SHOW

PREPARE TODAY! It’s less then a month away. Do you have coins to sell, consign or whatever? Call us today.

We will be viewing the Fun Sale December 19-20.

NEWPS

Boom! Look at the wild selection we have for this week. unexpectedly we got shipped in some wicked cool rarities. Major highlights:

  • H.10 1794 PCGS MS65+ CAC CAC bean
  • $1 1798 SE 15 Stars PCGS AU58+ CAC CAC bean
  • $2.5 1839D PCGS XF45 CAC CAC bean
  • $10 1797 LE PCGS AU50 CAC CAC bean

You can not go to a major auction and find GEM Bust Coins (for the grades), let alone PCGS CAC’d too. Read the description of the 1794 H.10. We laid out what a great value it is today–no sales hype, all fact. You won’t find anything close to the four highlights we have listed here in the next few years! These kinds of coins do NOT exist. That makes it tough on pricing guides as they tend only to report old sales and not today’s market reality. We buy and sell these coins based on our 40 years of experience and use a small mark up.

Anyway, check out ALL of our NEWPS and our regular inventory. We still have many great coins that we scratch our heads wondering why they have not yet sold. So many opportunities still exist!

All newps have been posted as of Saturday, December 10

LEGEND RARE COIN AUCTIONS

BID NOW! FINAL CALL FOR THE OUR REGENCY 18 SALE. It closes starting 4:30 PST Thursday December 15.

Call or email Julie Abrams: julie@legendauctions.com NOW to set up phone bidding, special terms, or for ANY assistance you may need.

A special note: many of you are spoiled by the bigger auction companies. Our software is a work-in-progress and will take more time to perfect. So on the issue of reserves, if you see a coin open at the low estimate-that is the reserve. We do our best to fill our auctions with NO reserve coins.

This is really another amazing sale. Highlights by the Angel Dees Buffalo Nickels; the Cheyenne Proof Barber Dimes/Quarters; the Northern Lights Toned Morgans ROUND II; a killer group of CC Morgans 65/67; and many other single rarities–highlighted by the $1 1795 SE PCGS MS65 CAC! Be prepared, as these are not boneyard sales. We’ve already attracted hundreds of serious big time bidders.

Good luck!
