Sale Highlights

1921/11 Mexico Gold 20 Pesos AU/BU

The Mexican 20 Peso combines nearly half an ounce of Gold with historic appeal and a wonderfully intricate Aztec calendar design. This coin shows an interesting mint error, with the remnants of a “1” appearing under the “2” in the date.

  • Contains .4823 oz of Gold.
  • Prominent overdate results from the “1” in the date being incompletely removed from an old die before it was re-punched with a “2” and reused in producing the 1921 issues.
  • Coins will show little, if any, circulation wear. All will retain their original mint luster.
  • Obverse: Mexican coat of arms featuring a golden eagle perched atop a cactus, devouring a snake. Date below wing, with 1921/11 overdate visible.
  • Reverse: Aztec Calendar Stone above legend bearing denomination and metal content.
  • One of two overdate varieties in the 20 Peso series, with the other being the 1920/10.

1960 South Africa Gold 1 oz Medal Golden Jubilee (English)

The ancestor to the modern-day Krugerrand. This South African Gold Medal celebrates the Golden Jubilee (1910 – 1960) of the Transvaaland Orange Free State Chamber of Mines.

Medal Highlights:

  • Made of .996 fine Gold and weighs 1 troy oz.
  • This medal was made by the Chamber of Mines which currently issues the present-day Krugerrand.
  • Obverse: Beautiful depiction of a pair of springbok antelope grazing.
  • Reverse: Features a modern tower building representing the Chamber of Mines.

This particular medal is in English. A companion medal has the exact same depictions, size and weight, but the legends are in Afrikaans.

2007 1 oz Platinum American Eagle MS-70 NGC (Early Releases)

This coin has a mintage of only 7,202 pieces making it the fourth lowest of the $100 Platinum Eagle series.
