Biblical Coin Series from the Scottdale Mint – The Chariot of Fire coin, depicting Elijah being carried to heaven
The Scottsdale Mint Biblical Coin Series highlights stories from The Bible. These stories include The Last Supper, David and Goliath, the Nativity and more. The Chariot of Fire coin, depicting Elijah being carried to heaven, is the third release of 2018 and the 21st release of the overall Biblical Series.
Each 2 oz Silver Chariot of Fire coin comes with a certificate of authenticity, providing the coin’s minting specifications. The certificate also features the biblical verses Gustave Doré used as his inspiration for his 1860s wood-engraved scene, “Elijah Taken up to Heaven in a Chariot of Fire”. An image of the original artwork used as a basis for this Silver coin design is also featured on the certificate. The Scottsdale Mint issues the coin by the authority of the island of Niue, where it is legal tender.
Similar to all previous releases in the series, this 2 oz coin is cast from .999 fine Silver with an antique finish and a high relief, rimless design. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the weight, face value and purity. The edge is engraved with the unique serial number, from 1 to 1499, given to each coin.
This beautiful coin is now available for purchase to start or continue any Biblical Series collection. You can shop this new release, and all previous issues, today at APMEX.
