The Scottsdale Mint Biblical Coin Series highlights stories from the Bible, including the chariot of fire, the three wise men, Adam and Eve and more. The Temptation of Jesus, depicting the devil tempting Jesus to worship him from atop a mountain, is the fifth release of 2018 and the 23rd release of the overall Biblical Series.
Each 2 oz Silver Temptation of Jesus coin comes with a certificate of authenticity, providing the coin’s minting specifications. The certificate also features the biblical verses from the Book of Matthew that Gustave Doré used as his inspiration for his 1865 wood-engraved scene, “The Temptation of Jesus.” An image of the original artwork used as a basis for this Silver coin design is also featured on the certificate. The Scottsdale Mint issues the coin by the authority of the island of Niue, where it is legal tender.
Similar to all previous releases in the series, this 2 oz coin is cast from .999 fine Silver with an antique finish and a high relief, rimless design. The obverse features the likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the weight, face value and purity. The edge is engraved with the unique serial number, from 1 to 1499, given to each coin.
This beautiful coin is now available for purchase to start or continue any Biblical Series collection. You can shop this new release, and all previous issues, today at APMEX.
