Officially licensed Star Wars collectible coins offered exclusively at CIBC
With the new Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens movie opening on December 18, two stunning 1 oz. pure silver coins in the officially licensed Star Wars™ collection – Han Solo™ and Rey™ — are now available for purchase exclusively at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) (NYSE:CM).
Han Solo is shown frozen in carbonite from the 1980 release of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back in this silver proof coin.
Rey is a new Star Wars character, who hails from a desert planet called Jakku. Described as a self-sufficient and solitary survivor, Rey is depicted on this colourful pure silver proof coin.
Each coin has a $2 denomination and comes presented in high-quality Star Wars™ branded packaging with a Certificate of Authenticity from the exclusive provider, the New Zealand Mint. They can be ordered at any CIBC branch or online for C$119.99 each.
“With the mintage for each coin strictly limited to only 10,000 worldwide, just 1,500 coins per character are available in Canada, making them highly sought-after,” says Vineet Malhotra, Managing Director and Head, Alternate and Retail Solutions, CIBC. “They’re the perfect addition to Stars Wars memorabilia collections and have been selling amazingly well in anticipation of the movie release.”
The other collectible Star Wars™ coins include:
- Darth Vader, featuring the moment of his appearance in the 1977 release of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
- Kylo Ren, a new Star Wars™ character, commands First Order missions with a temper as fiery as his unconventional lightsaber.
- Captain Phasma, another new Star Wars™ character, is a Chrome trooper working for the new Empire who commands the First Order’s legions of Troopers.
Customers can expect in-branch delivery within three-to-five business days and home delivery within five-to-seven business days.
