The Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists (PAN) continues to work with the
American Numismatic Association (ANA) to make the March 28 – 30 National Money Show to be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania a very special event. PAN is the official host organization and PAN Secretary Patrick McBride is the Host Chairman. PAN Vice President Randy Mastrangelo is the Assistant Chairman.
A welcome to the NMS and Pittsburgh kick-off banquet is on the schedule for Wednesday, March 27 the evening before the public show opening on Thursday morning. It will be held at the five-star LeMont Restaurant with the dynamic city skyline as a backdrop. All are welcome to attend this special event. U.S. Mint Director David Ryder will be the guest speaker. There will be a big band style orchestra for entertainment. The tone will focus on fun, fellowship, and networking – and not on long speeches or awards. A small silent auction will be in place with some wonderful signed numismatic items.

Abraham Lincoln impersonator Dennis Boggs has been booked during all three days of the coin show. He has been delighting coin show crowds for years with his in-character wit, humor, and orations. His appearance will be a selfie photo that you won’t want to miss.
PAN will be bringing the John Burns Memorial Reference Library to the show. This is a quiet area placed in the Club Midway where one can relax and browse through the many volumes of numismatic books. It was created in memory of numismatic book dealer John Burns, whose untimely death in 2014 shocked the numismatic community. The PAN Club Midway booth will also be a participating destination on the show floor for the Kid’s Treasure Trivia scavenger hunt. Young people 17 and under are given a numismatic question to answer at various show booth locations. Each correct answer yields a numismatic free prize. This kid’s interaction ANA program has gained significant popularity in the last few years.
The ANA will bring the Money Museum exhibit that will include the very rare 1913 nickel and 1804 dollar. There is a full line up of Money Talks speakers, a full collector exhibit area, and a Young Numismatists workshop on Saturday.
The ANA Legacy Series hosted by Numismatist Editor Barbara Gregory will feature multifaceted artist and former United States Mint Engraver Don Everhart. The 10th installment of this popular series will take place on Thursday, March 28, at 3 p.m. at Pittsburgh’s David L. Lawrence Convention Center (Room 414).
