[The] frog is a famous symbol of wealth. Since ancient times many cultures have believed that these animals attract financial prosperity. In the East it is believed that appearance of a frog heralds a prosperous future.

The Niue 2015 Money Frog $2 Silver Coin is a colorized thematic coin struck for collectors by the Mint of Poland. The coin features a colorized reverse, which has been embellished with two ambers. The one-ounce coin is struck in .999 fine silver.

Obverse:

The coin’s obverse boasts two distinct finishes. An outer ring is fully brilliant while the coin’s inner ring has a matte finish. In the center is Ian Rank-Broadley’s (View Designer’s Profile)effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Rank-Broadley’s initials IRB are located just beneath the bust truncation. The Mint of Poland’s MW (Warsaw Mint) mark is located to the immediate right of the queen’s neck. Wrapping around the outside of the inner ring, at the four o’clock position is information relating to the coin’s metallic content, which is expressed as Ag 999. On the outer ring, wrapping around the entire coin is the following legend and inscriptions: ELIZABETH II, NIUE ISLAND, 2 DOLLARS 2015. A beaded circle separates this text from the coin’s rim.

Reverse:

Struck in high relief, the reverse features a colorized frog in green, red, and yellow. The frog’s eyes and spots are made of red amber stones, which have been applied to the coin using a strong adhesive. Beneath the frog are symbols of prosperity in the form of gold coins bearing dollar signs and the euro symbol.
