By Daniel Frank Sedwick, LLC ……

Now is the time to contact us for consigning to our Treasure, World, U.S. Coin & Paper Money Auction 23, which is already shaping up to be another great sale. The consignment deadline is February 25, 2018, so there is plenty of time still to include your consignments. Click here for more information on how to consign. Then, call the office at (407) 975-3325 or email us at [email protected]. Read to the bottom of this email to see the big highlight for this sale!

We will be traveling around the world in February and March to collect consignments, starting with NumiExpo Caribe in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, then jumping to the Long Beach Coin Expo in California.

In early March, we’ll be visiting the Numismata show in Munich, Germany, and the ANA National Money Show in Irving, Texas. If you can’t come to one of these shows, keep in mind that for qualifying consignments we will come to you to discuss and take delivery of your consignments. There is no better place than our auctions to sell TREASURE, COBS, and LATIN AMERICAN material!

What We Are Looking For

– Shipwreck coins and cobs in reasonable condition, especially Atocha and 1715 Fleet

– Spanish colonial cobs (collections or single coins)
– Latin American coins, particularly Panama, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Costa Rica
– Artifacts from shipwrecks, including silver and gold ingots

– Gold and Silver U.S. coins
– World and US paper money

Why Consign Now?

Strong market The numbers don’t lie: Across all sectors of our specialty areas the hammer prices and sell-through rates have risen, to the point that, for example, virtually all shipwreck lots in our auctions find a new home. The U.S. economy is stronger than it was just a year ago, and precious metals prices are rising. Top collectors worldwide are eager to place their wealth in coins and other collectibles. Now is the time to take advantage.

Lower fees While the larger, more generalized auction houses have recently moved to a 20% buyer’s fee, we remain among the lowest at 17.5%, which is more appealing to bidders and advantageous for consignors, as it translates into higher hammer prices. A lower buyer’s fee means more money for the consignor.

Specialized focus Unlike other auction companies, we have remained specialized while expanding, with state-of-the-art expertise in Spanish colonial, Latin American and shipwrecks (coins, paper money or artifacts), AND with direct contact with the top buyers in these areas. For Latin American material this means not just speaking THE language (Spanish) but speaking THEIR language.

Personalized service In this business, biggest is not necessarily best, and only a specialized auction company like ours can offer personal assistance to consignors and bidders. Sometimes all it takes is the right phone call to make the crucial collector aware of your consignment. We give the same great service for $100 coins as for $100,000 gold bars.

Experience and record Since our first auction 11 years ago, we have offered over 40,000 lots in coins, ingots and artifacts, with an average of 90% of the lots sold to bidders from over 80 countries around the world and a total estimated value of $40 million. We are members of numerous organizations within the trade, including executive board positions, particularly the prestigious International Association of Professional Numismatists (IAPN).
