The 1881 Proof set we picked out is nicely matched with gem to superb gem specimens. Most are CAC-certified. To assemble a matched set like this is a great accomplishment. Imagine the cherry on top if one were to add to it that year’s gold Proofs.
Nearly every example in this finest ever assembled Ike dollar set is top pop, richly toned, CAC-certified, and chosen for its impeccable strike and early die state. Whether you collect modern coins or not, you have to see the finest known of this late-20th-century type.
In 1885, the US Mint experimented with implementing a major change to the Morgan dollar – replacing the reeded edge with edge lettering. The experiment didn’t pan out, but a few dozens patterns survive, including a PR68 example in Aluminum offered by APMEX.
