APMEX, Inc., an online precious metals retailer based in Oklahoma City, announces the first 2019 coin of Scottsdale Mint’s famed Biblical Series is now available to order.
The Scottsdale Mint Biblical Coin Series highlights stories from the Bible, including Noah’s Ark, The Nativity, The Ten Commandments and more. This first release of 2019, focusing on the story of Samson slaying the lion, is the 25th issue of the overall Biblical Series.
Each 2 oz Silver Samson Slays the Lion coin comes with a certificate of authenticity, providing the coin’s minting specifications. The certificate also features the biblical verses from the Book of Judges that Gustave Doré used as his inspiration for his 1865 wood-engraved scene, “Samson Slaying a Lion”. An image Doré’s artwork used as a basis for the design is also featured on the certificate.
Similar to previous releases in the series, this 2 oz coin contains .999 fine Silver and features an antique finish with a high-relief, rimless design. The obverse features the Raphael Maklouf-designed likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the coin’s weight, face value, and purity. The edge is engraved with the unique serial number given to each coin, from 1 to 1499.
This beautiful 2 oz Silver Samson Slays the Lion coin is now available for purchase to start or continue any Biblical Series collection. You can shop this new release, and all previous issues, today at APMEX.

Beautiful. Some of the early coins in this series like Exodus now sell for like $400-600 a coin on ebay. I have been very pleased with my collection. :)
