ANA Bylaws allow the Board of Governors to conduct special meetings for the purpose of handling matters of importance in between regularly scheduled board meetings. Board discussions are limited to only items listed on the official agenda, which must be given to all members of the board at least one full day prior to the start of the meeting. A quorum of seven governors must be present to hold the meeting, and five affirmative votes are required for passage of any matter.

The American Numismatic Association is a congressionally chartered nonprofit educational organization dedicated to encouraging people to study and collect money and related items. The ANA helps its 26,000 members and the public discover and explore the world of money through its vast array of education and outreach programs, as well as its museum, library, publications, conventions and seminars.
