The June 13, 2015 Coin & Currency Auction, & Mail Bid of the Northern Illinois, & Tennessee Collections & others conducted by SONNY HENRY’S AUCTION SERVICE of Mendota, IL was held at the Midwest Center for Christian Living Lasalle, IL. It was very fast paced, and exciting. There were over 80 bidders in attendance coming from Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin. Mail Bids were received from 35 different states.
Several coin clubs were represented.
There were $1 and $5 Bills given away during the auction. A number was drawn for $100.00 and several other coins, and money prizes were given away at the end of the auction. There were over 500 lots for sale, and bidding was competitive. Overall Prices were very strong. At recent auctions, prices were very high. Early Type and Silver Dollars seemed to be the leaders in the auction. Also common low-grade coins were commanding higher prices. This auction far exceeded all expectations.
