First, I wish to thank all of Legends customers for their loyalty and support through the years. George, myself and Jose work hard to ensure you always receive the BEST coins and the BEST services. Our commitment is you, the collector. Unlike other retail dealers (and most wholesale dealers), we know that with out you, Legend and the coin business would not exist. That is why we are one of the leaders in the fight against coins doctoring and gradeflation. Small steps have been made, but we still have along way to go.
Along those lines, I would like to announce now, my desire to join the ANA board of Governors to shape that organization into the leading consumer protection agency it should be. I know the elections are long way off, but if I can start making them think about changes now, it is much less work to be done later. I also have a vision about making the organization a real “happening” place for numismatics. For too many years it has been a lumbering waste.
As time goes on, you will hear much more from me on this subject. I promise to be faithfully committed to the cause of making the ANA great. I will work hard to create a powerful organization to dominate and force (if need be) dealers to cooperate on the harmful subjects they love to ignore (with over 30,000 members the ANA will be a powerful organization with a voice). I have a zero tolerance for failure, BS, or weakness. I will push hard for change. I will be totally transparent. I am no ones puppet. I do not care for trivial politics about silly subjects. Most important, I promise to give it my best effort (yes, I realize doing this will be time consuming, I will be prepared)!
I hope I can count on your support to make this happen. I have been a collector of coins all my life (I currently own several cool coins plus the finest PR 3CS set-see the PCGS Registry) and have been a full time dealer since 1979. I can NOT stand back and watch the hobby I love so dearly be destroyed by greed. I am tired of being bullied by people in powerful positions who are in total denial about the problems this great hobby faces. Also, I am not making this run because of the current interesting situation the board just had with its ex Executive Director. I see an enormous potential platform to help clean things up and bring serious good back to the hobby. Since the dealers are dragging their feet and have offered little support, I strongly believe the ANA membership can definitely make things happen!
