The Perth Mint

June is proving to be another exciting month at The Perth Mint with an immense range of new coin releases.

After the unprecedented success of the previous series, Australian Sea Life II is launched. The first coin in this series depicts a Hawksbill Turtle which can be found in the coral reefs of northern Australia. Listed as endangered, the Hawksbill Turtle is beautifully portrayed on a 1/2oz silver proof coin.

One of Australia’s favourite collectable issues, the Australian Koala Gold Coin Series, is also released this month. These coins portray delightful original artistry and are struck from 99.99% pure gold in proof quality. The series comprises a 2oz coin, a 1oz high relief coin, a 1/10oz coin and a 1/25oz coin.

We are also proud to release a coin in honour of the Qantas Wallabies, who have competed in all six Rugby World Cups. The Australian Rugby Union Men of Gold coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality and is issued as Australian legal tender.

For the first time, the Australian Koala silver proof issue is offered as a 5oz coin. This exciting new size is sure to be of interest to collectors and those interested in a stunning silver numismatic investment.

The Perth Mint and Australia Post are celebrating 100 years of Duntroon, the Royal Military College of Australia. The college was founded at Duntroon in 1911 and it proudly upholds a famous tradition of training and developing some of the country’s most accomplished leaders.
