Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) has hired Keith Zaner to serve as a pricing analyst for its popular online coin value guides, including the NGC US Coin Price Guide. Zaner brings decades of experience as a pricing analyst for several major numismatic publications.
“Keith’s experience and detailed knowledge of the rare coin market made him the ideal candidate for this position,” comments Mark Salzberg, chairman of NGC. “The addition of Keith will allow NGC to enhance its extensive suite of online price guide and research tools.”
Most recently, Zaner worked for Whitman Publishing in Atlanta, Georgia, where he compiled valuations data for A Guide Book of United States Coins (the “Red Book”) and other publications. Prior to his work at Whitman, Zaner was a valuations editor from 1997 to 2008 at Greysheet, the Coin Dealer Newsletter, and the Greensheet, the Currency Dealer Newsletter. Earlier, Zaner worked as pricing analyst for the Coin World “Trends” value guide from 1982 to 1997.
Zaner will update values for the NGC US Coin Price Guide based on actual, documented transactions provided to NGC by a number of sources throughout the numismatic community. He will also serve as a liaison between NGC and its collector and dealer members on price guide matters.
“I am very excited to join NGC and help further its commitment to provide the best services to collectors and dealers,” says Zaner. “The price guides are key features of the NGC website and my focus will be to provide the most accurate coin values available anywhere.”
