Law Enforcement Education

The Numismatic Crime Information Center (NCIC) and the Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation (ACEF) are currently looking for counterfeit examples of the following:

  • Silver and Gold Eagles
  • Boxed Silver and Gold Eagles (Unc, Proof, Boxes, and Certificates)
  • US Mint product counterfeits
  • Carded gold/silver from any Mint (PAMP Suisse, etc.)
  • Silver rounds, bars, etc.
  • Numismatic coins any denomination raw or slabbed
  • Counterfeit slabs (PCGS/NGC, etc.)

Donated examples will be used for law enforcement training programs.

Lost/Stolen FedEx Package

A FedEx package being shipped from California to Texas has been reported lost/stolen.

The package contained the following coins:

Numismatic Crime – Jewelry Store Robbery

Law Enforcement Requests Assistance

The St. George, Utah Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a jewelry store.

The numismatic crime suspect entered the store posing as an FBI agent and stole a large amount of jewelry. A witness stated that his fake beard appeared to be covering up a pigment discoloration of his chin area. The suspect was seen leaving in a charcoal gray four-door passenger vehicle. The stolen items consisted of gold and silver rings, some with diamonds.

The suspect may attempt to sell the stolen jewelry at coin shops or gold and silver exchanges.

St. George PD incident number is 19P025014.
