Clydesdale Bank’s New £10 Note Enters Circulation

Clydesdale Bank Ten Pounds 2017

By De La Rue, plc …..
Clydesdale Bank’s second polymer note available from September 21

World famous Scottish poet Robert Burns features on Clydesdale Bank’s new £10 note which was designed in collaboration with De La Rue’s talented design team. They worked closely with the Bank to produce the new polymer note which also includes the landscape of the old and new towns of Edinburgh, a World Heritage site.

De La Rue also produced Clydesdale Bank’s £5 polymer note, which was released last September.

The £10 note, like the £5 note, is smaller in size, and is manufactured on De La Rue’s innovative Safeguard® polymer substrate. It will also include the Spark® Orbital security feature, which is depicted in the shape of Scotland over a transparent window and which changes color as the note is moved and tilted. These features mean the new notes are more durable and more secure, which helps to reduce counterfeiting.

De La Rue’s Global Account Management Director Ruth Euling said:

“I’m proud to have partnered with Clydesdale Bank on the production of the new note and delighted to see it enter circulation today. Our design teams worked closely on the iconic concept and we look forward to our continued partnership.”
