Texas $2 Step Currency Set

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is pleased to commemorate 25 years of currency production at its Western Currency Facility with this exquisitely designed 2016 Texas $2 Step Currency Set.

In November 1986, Fort Worth, Texas was chosen as the home of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s Western Currency Facility. Currency production began in December 1990, and the official dedication took place on April 26, 1991. For 25 years, the Western Currency Facility has “branded” each note with an “FW” indicating that it was produced in Fort Worth, Texas.

2016 Texas Two-Step $2 Currency Set. Images courtesy BEP.This set features two Series 2009 $2 notes from the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank with matching numerical serial numbers beginning with “2016xxxx.” Each note is protected by a clear, acid-free polymer sleeve in an attractive folder representative of Texas. The 2016 Texas $2 Step Currency Set is $39.95 and is limited to 6,500 sets. A 10-set household purchase limit is in place July 19 – 25, 2016. On July 26, household purchase restrictions will be waived.

2016 Independence Collection PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS Intaglio Print

2016 Independence Collection: Pursuit of Happiness Intaglio Print. Image courtesy BEPThe BEP is pleased to introduce its 2016 Intaglio Print Program, Independence Collection. This year’s program focuses on the Declaration of Independence. This print, “Pursuit of Happiness,” the third and final card in this series, shows an allegory of “The Flag.”

The allegory is holding a flag and an olive branch. The flag represents the 50 states of the United States of America and the olive branch symbolizes peace. The torch placed below the allegory is symbolic of knowledge and enlightening people. The images of the allegory with a flag and torch, all represent the ability to achieve happiness through peace and enlightenment in the land of opportunity.
