Residential Burglary
The Colorado Springs, Colorado Police Department is investigating a numismatic crime, the residential burglary of professional numismatist Ken Bressett. The offense occurred on November 2, 2019.
The following is a partial listing of stolen items:
- Nice foreign from China, Japan, India, and Spanish America
- Approximately 20 Sycee silver pieces
- Several very rare Chinese dollars
- Beautiful Auto Dollar
- Awards with the victim’s name inscribed
- Items with the name R.S. Yoeman
- A large amount of gold rings, chains, and earrings
Suspect Arrested
During the past several months, Numismatic Crime Information Center (NCIC) has been coordinating investigations with several law enforcement agencies across the country involving bad checks written by an individual identified as Jason Faraj.
The Lowell, Michigan police department has Mr. Faraj in custody at the Kent County Jail in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Detectives with the Lowell Police Department are looking for additional cases involving the fraudulent activities of Jason Faraj. Bond is currently set at $50,000.

Faraj is alleged to have written bad checks to coin and jewelry dealers across the country. If you have been a victim please advise the following information and forward to [email protected]–even if you have reported to NCIC previously:

Numismatic Crime – Jewelry Store Robbery
Law Enforcement Requests Assistance
The St. George, Utah Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a jewelry store.
The numismatic crime suspect entered the store posing as an FBI agent and stole a large amount of jewelry. A witness stated that his fake beard appeared to be covering up a pigment discoloration of his chin area. The suspect was seen leaving in a charcoal gray four-door passenger vehicle. The stolen items consisted of gold and silver rings, some with diamonds.
The suspect may attempt to sell the stolen jewelry at coin shops or gold and silver exchanges.
