In 2016, Banco de la República (Central Bank of Colombia) will release a new family of banknotes composed of six denominations: $2,000, $5,000, $10,000, $20,000, $50,000, and $100,000.
On Wednesday, November 9, 2016 the Central bank will enter into circulation the new 5,000 peso bill, the fourth note of the new family. It will circulate simultaneously with the current 5,000 peso banknote of the old series. The new bill will be available for exchange in the treasuries of the Bank of the Republic throughout the country, with extended hours of 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
In Bogota at Treasury Street 13 with race 35 (Industrial Zone), and in the respective treasuries at all other Branches.
