CIT Seven summits coin series

The Seven Summits Coin Series

The Seven summits coin series depicts the highest mountains on each of the seven continents and enthralling subjects of one of CIT Coin Invest’s latest series, which displays the peaks in topographic detail from an unusual bird’s eye perspective in solid 5 ounces of fine silver.

The first coin of the series shows Denali in Alaska which only bears its original Athabaskan name again since 2015 after it was called Mount McKinley for nearly 100 years. With its 6190 metres, «The Big One» is the highest mountain in North America. Available in late September

Series Profile:

  • Seven issues projected, 1 issue/year at ANA World’s Fair of Money
  • Topographic 3D relief
  • Cook Islands, 25 Dollars, 5 oz, .999 Silver, 65 mm, BU
  • Limited mintage of 777 pieces per issue
  • Partial color application

Mount Everest, Denali, Aconcagua – the third of the seven summits features the highest mountain outside of the Himalayas. At 6962 meters (22’841 feet), Aconcagua might be one of the lesser known seven summits but it certainly is one of the most spectacular ones.

The “Sentinel of Stone” is arguably the most elaborate coin in the series yet with an unbelievably detailed, high-rising, topographical smart- minting relief and a selective color application that clearly defines the different rock strata present in the Andes mountain range. The snow and ice capped summit is surrounded by hues of green and red that represent limestone, carbonates, cinder deposits and rock of volcanic origin. Aconcagua was first climbed in 1897 by Matthias Zurbriggen. The hardships of this adventure can be vividly imagined when looking at the miniature mountain on this numismatic artwork.
