U.S. Mint: 2016 Civil Aviation Medal Design Candidates

Michael White from the United States Mint’s Office of Corporate Communications forwarded to CoinWeek the following design candidates for the 2016 Civil Aviation Congressional Medal.

The Civil Aviation Patrol is a federally-chartered non-profit corporation that serves as an Auxiliary Air Force for the United States. Established in 1941, the CAP has served with honor and professionalism as a training ground for future aviators, a valuable resource in emergency response, and a reserve auxiliary for our nation’s armed forces.

The following finalist designs were considered when the CCAC made their recommendations earlier this month.
