U.S. Mint Sales Counter in Washington D.C. Closes to Accomodate Papal Visit

From the U.S. Mint Press Office:

The sales counter at United States Mint headquarters in Washington DC will be closed September 22 – 24 due to anticipated road closures, detours and increased traffic in the Washington metropolitan area during the Pope’s visit. The sales kiosk will reopen Friday, September 25 at 10 am.

The public tour at our facility in Philadelphia will remain open during the week of September 21 (MondayFriday, 9am -4:30pm). Please note that the plant, tour and gift shop will be closed on Monday, September 28, due to the Pope’s visit.
