The United States Mexican Numismatic Association (USMEX) announced today that it will host their 3rd annual convention and educational forum at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona on October 16-18, 2014.
The 2013 convention was a huge success and everyone who attended enjoyed themselves. The 2014 convention opens on Thursday afternoon (October 16th) with a silent auction and cocktail reception in the pool area at 5pm. The bourse area and educational seminars take place on Friday and Saturday. Six seminars will take place over the two days. USMEX is also expanding the convention floor size by 50% over last year. This expansion will allow a much larger area for interesting displays assembled by members on a variety of topics, plus room for a book sale to benefit the Association.
We are also expanding the educational seminars this year to include courses that can’t be found anywhere else. First among them will be a series of counterfeit detection seminars starting with the colonial era. The seminars will be presented by some of the most knowledgeable professionals in the field, including Kent Ponterio, Dan Sedwick, and Mike Dunigan. The educational aspects and relaxed atmosphere set this convention apart from any others you may have attended.
Dealers on the bourse floor will include Mexican Coin Company, Don Bailey, Baja Numismatics, Robert Briggs, Dave Busse, Mark Clark, Jed Crump, Mike Dunigan, Sal Falcone, Angel Smith Herrera, Dan Sedwick, Stacks Bowers, Stephen Album Rare Coins, and Dave Wagner. There is no coin show anywhere in the world with this volume of Latin American material available on the floor.
Special room rates are available at the resort. We strongly urge you to make reservations now as we sold out last year about a month before the convention. The easiest way to make your reservation is on our website at www.usmex.org
