The United States Mint will operate a sales booth at the 77th Anniversary Convention of the Central States Numismatic Society (CSNS), according to Bourse Chairman Patricia Foley.

“The U.S. Mint is always a really popular feature at any convention that they participate in,” she said. “In addition to making a range of current Mint products available for purchase by the public, Mint staff will present a number of educational displays about the Mint, its history and products. Whenever the United States Mint comes to any numismatic convention, their presence is always a focal point of public interest.”

The Mint booth will operate during the public hours of the convention, Thursday, April 28 from 10AM-7PM; Friday, April 29 from 10AM-6PM and Saturday, April 30 from 10AM-5PM. There is complimentary public admission on each of those days.

Heritage Auctions will once again be the official auction house of the CSNS convention, holding multi-session sales for both rare coins and currency on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There will be an Early Bird/Professional Preview on Wednesday, April 28 from 12noon-6PM. During that period dealers and collectors can gain preferred early access to the 300+ booth bourse floor for a $100 registration fee.

Convention Chairman Kevin Foley said of the Early Bird Day:

“There is always a buzz in the bourse area on our Early Bird Day. An incredible amount of business goes on, with dealers breaking out special purchases that they’ve laid back just to unveil at CSNS and other dealers and collectors in a near frenzy to ferret out these new to the market items. When the doors open at noon there is a veritable stampede pushing in at the entrance to get to that special dealer first. It isn’t a time for small talk and pleasantries, just really serious business.”

The convention will be held at the Schaumburg Convention Center, located next to the I-90 freeway 10 miles from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport just across from the Woodfield Mall. The adjoining Renaissance Hotel offers free parking for both overnight guests and day visitors to the convention.

Reservations at a special $155 rate are available at the Renaissance by calling the hotel at (847) 303-4100 and mentioning “Central States Numismatic 2016”. Anyone experiencing difficulty in making a reservation should call Convention Chairman Kevin Foley at (414) 807-0116.

Dealers interested in booth space should contact Bourse Chairman Patricia Foley at [email protected].
