The Images Collection is an exceptionally fine assemblage of Mint State Flying Eagle and Indian cents built over an eight-year period, with 61 of the 62 coins purchased prior to August of 2002. The collector had a remarkably good eye for color and quality, and it shows throughout. The entire collection of Indian (or Indian Head) cents is graded Red with the exception of one coin. Sixty-five percent of the collection is in either Old Green Tag Holders or First Generation Blue Tag Holders.
The collection was listed as Best in Category on the NGC Registry, Indian Head Cents, 1859-1909, Circulation Issue, and remained in first place for five years from 2005 through 2009. Even though there have not been any additions to the collection since 2007, the set currently remains in second place. Per the collector’s request, not a single coin has been resubmitted for upgrade attempt or crossover.
