Rick and Morty is an adult animated television series on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim

Rick and Morty - Jerry's coin collectionThe series follows the misadventures of alcoholic mad scientist Rick and his easily influenced grandson Morty, who split their time between domestic family life and inter-dimensional travel.

Rick and Mort live with Rick’s daughter Beth (a cardiac surgeon for horses) and her husband Jerry, an insecure father and a low-level advertising agency exec, until he was fired for incompetence.

This short 13 second clip from a recent episode shows “Doofus Rick” one of the infinite number of “Ricks” in this “multiverse”, who genuinely enjoys spending time with Jerry. He is commenting on Jerry’s coin collection that pictures R2-D2 instead of George Washington.

Not everyone’s cup of tea, but we post anything and everything related to coins, no matter where we find it.

  1. Thanks for posting this. This is my favorite show of any kind on TV, and this scene with Jerry’s collectible Star Wars coins comes to mind every time I think about the proliferation of modern collectible coins.

In the opening scene of the episode you reference here, a group of Ricks from throughout the multiverse burst into Jerry’s kitchen to essentially subpoena Rick and Morty to appear before the “Council of Ricks”; Jerry immediately begins shouting the locations of his valuables in a meek attempt to avoid being harmed.

He initially claims he has “a rare antique coin collection,” but pointlessly reconsiders once the commotion is over: “Well, maybe they’re not ‘antique,’ but they did have a limited minting [sic]!”
