6.) Anzac coins collection with four ‘copper’ 25c pieces to be released

Set for release leading into Anzac Day commemorations, the limited-edition Legends of the Anzacs: Medals of Honour collection is a joint initiative between News Corp Australia, the [Royal Australian] Mint, Legacy and Westpac.

The four 25c pieces feature the Victoria Cross, George Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross and Medal for Gallantry. Alongside them will be 10 silver 20c coins.

For many Australians, the four will be the first copper-looking coins seen since the 1c and 2c pieces went out of circulation 25 years ago…

A package being sent USPS from Nebraska to Carson City, Nevada has been reported lost/Stolen. The package shows to have arrived in Carson City but has not been delivered to recipient.

An Evansville coin store was broken into this week, but it’s not the first time this has happened to the store.

The owner of TLC Coins and Collectibles on West Franklin St. discovered his back windows broken on Tuesday morning.

18.) Where Are the Coins Found with the Cruit Island Giant?

A group of workmen were digging a sand and gravel bank to get material to repair the local road on Cruit Island in February 1954. About 10 inches under the surface they found a hessian sack which contained the skeleton of a giant. He was a young man of teenage years with long, shoulder length hair. He was examined by the Donegal coroner of the time, Dr John McGinley. He was accompanied in his examination by Donald Bonner, a local dentist from Dungloe.

“According to locals who witnessed the proceedings the sack also contained a number of coins which, they said, were taken by a local priest but we’ve been unable to find out any more information”

A new coin commemorates the service of Fargo Police Officer Jason Moszer. The North Dakota Fraternal Order of Police is behind the minting of the coin.
