Elegant End to Kangaroo Coin Series That Epitomizes Australia

The Kangaroo at Sunset Silver Proof Coin was first launched by the Royal Australian Mint in 2010. This year, the Mint concludes this popular Kangaroo Coin series with the sophisticated Kangaroo at Sunset 2019 $1 Fine Silver Proof Coin.

The breathtaking coin is one of the Mint’s most iconic and features a world renowned design by celebrated sculptor Wojciech Pietranik.

Royal Australian Mint Chief Executive Officer Ross MacDiarmid said the Kangaroo at Sunset coins are one of the Mint’s most sought-after releases.

“The annual release of the Kangaroo at Sunset $1 Fine Silver Proof Coin always generates great interest in the numismatic community, from both Australian and international collectors,” he said.

“The depiction of a lone kangaroo bounding across the desert against a setting sun is an iconic Australian design and one that truly captures the spirit of our country.”

The Kangaroo at Sunset series heads off into the sunset for the final time in 99.9 per cent silver and with a limited mintage of 2500. Struck to the Mint’s high quality proof standard, the obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.

The Kangaroo at Sunset 2019 $1 Fine Silver Proof Coin is available now from the Mint’s online store or by phoning 1300 652 020. For international sales please contact your local distributor.
