The marquee auction at the world-famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, features one of Heritage’s strongest-ever offerings of Ancient and World coins, with more than 2,300 lots total. For the first time in New York, Heritage will be holding Platinum Night the evening of Monday, January 5, an ultra-select offering of more than 400 coins valued at $5,000 and higher. This will include more than 140 Ancients of outstanding quality and beauty. The Signature floor sessions January 4-5 are also loaded with superb Greek, Roman, Byzantine and World coins.
The Ancients offering is anchored by The California Collection, a remarkable survey of Ancient Greek numismatics in 138 beautiful coins. The collection is the work of a Southern California gentleman whose long-time love of history, great art, land, nature and architecture found perfect expression in the magnificent coins of the Hellenic world. Also present are further outstanding selections from the Lexington Collection of Jonathan K. Kern, including a coin with the highest NGC grade we have ever offered. Rounding out the NYINC auction is a terrific offering of Roman and Byzantine coinage.
But don’t take my word for it, gaze upon some of the highlights:
