USPS Losses

The following two offenses have been reported stolen/missing.

#1

The following two coins were sent priority mail from Carson City, Nevada to Fort Worth, Texas. They have been reported missing/stolen:

A registered package being sent from Honolulu to Redondo Beach, California arrived with some of the contents missing. The package appeared to have been tampered with and the following two coins have been reported stolen:

  • 1904 $20 St. NGC MS62 4491466011
  • 1927 $20 Saint NGC MS64 4491466013

Missing Coins USPS

A package being shipped from California to Texas has been reported missing.

The package contained the following two coins:

  • 1861-C $5 ICG-AU53
  • 1849 $5 Moffat & CO. AU53 4244288-006

Bad Checks

The following individual has been reported to have written NSF checks for a large amount of silver Englehard bars. The checks have been turned over to local law enforcement:

The following coins were being shipped from New Jersey to Austin, Texas. Upon arrival in Texas, the package was empty. The last known tracking location was in Memphis, Tennessee.

Possible Fraud/Bad Checks

NCIC is looking for any dealer who has been contacted or done business with an individual identified as David Lane and uses a Los Angeles, CA address.

A Spokane, Washington dealer advises this individual attempted to buy 60 ounces of gold but became suspicious of the individual’s intentions and stopped the transaction. The individual spoke with an indistinguishable accent.

NCIC is investigating whether David Lane has issued bad checks to other dealers in the Washington area.

UPDATE:

NCIC is investigating individuals ordering large amounts of gold coins with fraudulent checks. The names are different but the address is the same except for the Suite number.

Missing/Stolen Frisco Banknote

The following note being shipped via USPS from South Carolina to Texas has been reported missing/stolen. Last tracking shows parcel to have arrived at the Coppell, Texas facility.
