CAC Website Offers CDN Publishing’s CPG Market Prices for CAC Coins

Certified Acceptance Corporation (CAC) now provides free access to CDN’s Collector’s Price Guide (CPG) values for CAC-stickered coins. This timely, independent market information offers collectors and dealers with the latest fair-market prices for an expansive variety of CAC-stickered U.S. coins, including many of the most popular, widely traded series of copper, nickel, silver, and gold coinage.

These CAC coin prices are available online and are displayed alongside population reports for easy, at-a-glance viewing of the most important information collectors and dealers need to know. Access to this data is entirely free and does not require membership of any kind.

“For quite some time the price guides didn’t differentiate pricing between ‘A,’ ‘B,’ and ‘C’ coins,” says CAC President John Albanese, noting that most price guides relate information only for coins of average quality. “Since the inception of CAC in 2007, the market has seen a formal split occur between certified coins that are fairly typical in quality – the ‘C’ coins – versus those that are clearly a cut above the rest, represented by the ‘A’ and ‘B’ coins. Thus, the time has arrived for specific pricing information to reflect this distinctive and growing area of the marketplace.”

Coin Dealer Newsletter is The Wall Street Journal of the numismatic world and it’s wonderful to have them provide this independent pricing information,” says Albanese, adding, “While we are market makers, we do not and will not have any input on the pricing.”

CDN Publishing, home of the flagship publication CDN Monthly Greysheet since 1963, has been publishing CPG Coin & Currency Market Review since 2018 and recently began providing CAC pricing in all of its print coin price guides. Subsequently, CDN Publishing launched its quarterly CAC Rare Coin Market Review in August 2019 and will be providing this data electronically.

“It’s an honor for us to provide CAC-specific pricing for their web site,” says CDN Publisher John Feigenbaum. “As collectors and dealers know, there are distinct markets for coins with and without the CAC sticker and only CDN is providing pricing on this granular level. At CDN we recognize the need for differentiating these prices and the feedback we’ve received from our subscribers and market makers has been uniformly supportive.”

Feigenbaum adds that the presentation of CDN CPG (retail-based) CAC coin prices on the CAC website fills a need based on CAC’s desire to offer truly independent pricing to collectors and traders.

“CDN is ideally positioned to help CAC offer pricing on their web site and we’re extremely proud to extend our brand’s credibility with this partnership.”

CAC was established in 2007 in Far Hills, New Jersey, by John Albanese, a longtime coin expert with more than 40 years in the numismatic industry. A co-founder of PCGS in 1986 and founder of NGC in 1987, Albanese has unparalleled experience in the grading of rare coins and began CAC in an effort to formally recognize the marketplace’s top-quality coins. CAC awards green bean-shaped stickers to coins that represent the top of their grade and furnishes gold “beans” to coins that would grade at least one point higher.

CDN Publishing was founded in 1963 to provide current market pricing information on a variety of coins, paper currency, and other items for coin dealers and coin collectors. In addition to publishing its famous CDN Monthly Greysheet, CDN Publishing has expanded to include several other popular price guides and products, including The CDN Monthly Greensheet, The CPG Coin & Currency Market Review, The CAC Rare Coin Market Review, CDN Exchange, and the CDN Pricing Tool app. Publisher John Feigenbaum and his team monitor nearly 200,000 prices of collectible rare coins and paper money.
