April White is an artist from the Haida SGaana Jaad of the Yahqu’iaanaas Raven Clan. Born on Haida Gwaii (more commonly known as the Queen Charlotte Islands), White was immersed in indigenous art from an early age as many members of her family practiced the art of painting, sculpting, carving, and jewelry making. White graduated from the University of British Columbia and refined her painting skills while working as a geologist.
