Richard A. Peterson was named Deputy Director of the United States Mint on January 25, 2011. A member of the Mint team since October 2008, Mr. Peterson served as Associate Director for Manufacturing prior to assuming his current position.

Mr. Peterson talks about the status of the Mint’s three lines of business that include circulating coinage, bullion and numismatic collector coin series. He also discusses the research and development efforts underway to investigate alternative metals for circulating coinage.

American Numismatic Association World’s Fair of Money

The country’s premier coin show and convention,  is held every summer at cities around the country. This year the show was hosted in Philadelphia, PA.
