In addition to faring well in internet sales during the month of June, CAC-approved coins outperformed other certified coins in a live auction at a FUN Convention in Florida. Here are 10 examples, which were selected from a large number of results that could have been listed.

1. 1943-S Steel Cent in MS-68

On July 12, Heritage auctioned a CAC-approved MS-68 1943-S steel cent for $5,400 USD. This result is consistent with recent prices realized. So far this year, Heritage has auctioned CAC-approved MS-68 1943-S steel cents for $3,600 on April 28; for $4,080 also on April 28; for $5,400 on March 16; and for $5,280 on January 14. In contrast, PCGS-graded MS-68 1943-S steel cents without CAC approval were sold by Heritage for $3,120 on July 12; for $1,920 on June 9; and for $2,400 on January 14. The trend has been for CAC-approved MS-68 grade steel cents to bring much more.

2. 1877 Three Cent Nickel in Proof-66 Cameo

On July 12, Heritage auctioned an NGC-certified Proof-66 Cameo 1877 Three Cent Nickel with a sticker of approval from CAC for $3,360. On June 9, Heritage sold a PCGS-certified Proof-66 Cameo 1877 Three Cent Nickel without a CAC sticker for $2,640.

3. 1832 Dime in MS-64

On July 12, Heritage auctioned a CAC-approved MS-64 grade 1832 dime for $2,886. In January 2018 at a FUN Convention, Heritage auctioned a PCGS-graded MS-64 1832 dime without a CAC sticker for $1,740. In October 2017, Heritage sold a different PCGS-graded MS-64 1832 dime without a CAC sticker for $2,040.

4. 1911 Half Dollar in MS-65

On July 12, Heritage auctioned a CAC-approved MS-65 1911 half dollar with a CAC sticker for $2,040. On March 16, 2019, Heritage auctioned a PCGS-graded MS-65 1911 half dollar without a CAC sticker for $1,488.

5. 1889-CC Morgan Dollar in EF-45

On July 12, Heritage auctioned a CAC-approved Extremely Fine-45 grade 1889-CC Morgan silver dollar for $4,320. On April 30, 2019, Stack’s Bowers sold a PCGS-graded Extremely Fine-45 1889-CC Morgan silver dollar without a CAC sticker for $2,880.

6. 1812 ‘Large 8’ Half Dollar in AU-55

On July 14, Heritage auctioned an NGC-graded AU-55 1812 ‘Large 8’ half dollar with a sticker of approval from CAC for $1,200. On February 3, 2019, Heritage sold a PCGS-graded AU-55 1812 ‘Large 8’ half dollar without a CAC sticker for $780. In October 2018, Heritage sold a different PCGS-graded AU-55 1812 ‘Large 8’ half dollar without a CAC sticker for $960.

7. 1907-O Half Dollar in MS-64

On July 14, Heritage auctioned an NGC-graded MS-64 1907-O half dollar, with a sticker of approval from CAC for $1,080. On June 9, 2019, Heritage sold a PCGS-graded MS-64 1907-O half dollar without a CAC sticker for $840. About a year ago in July 2018, Heritage sold a different PCGS-graded MS-64 1907-O half dollar without a CAC sticker for $810.

8. 1928-D Quarter in AU-58

On July 28, GreatCollections sold a CAC-approved AU-58 grade 1928-D quarter for $148.40. On January 30, Heritage sold a PCGS graded AU-58 1928-D quarter without a CAC sticker for $84.

9. 1939 Walking Liberty Half Dollar in Proof-67

On July 28, GreatCollections sold a CAC-approved Proof-67 1939 Walking Liberty half dollar for $871.88. On January 20, 2019, GreatCollections sold a different CAC-approved Proof-67 1939 Walking Liberty half dollar for even more, $1,059.75.

In November 2018, Heritage sold a PCGS-certified Proof-67 1939 Walking Liberty half dollar without a CAC sticker for $600. In April 2018, Heritage auctioned a colorful PCGS-certified Proof-67 1939 Walking Liberty half dollar without a CAC sticker for $780.

10. 1926 Peace Dollar in MS-66

On July 28, GreatCollections sold a CAC-approved MS-66 1926 Peace silver dollar for $1,659.38. On June 27, Legend Rare Coin Auctions sold a PCGS-graded MS-66 1926 Peace dollar without a CAC sticker for $940. On June 16, GreatCollections sold a different PCGS-graded MS-66 1926 Peace dollar without a CAC sticker for $1,080. During the month of May, Legend sold one and Stack’s Bowers auctioned two CAC-approved MS-66 grade 1926 Peace dollars for more than $2,500 each.
