Named by Mint Director Edmund C. Moy to be the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, John M. Mercanti had a long and accomplished career as a coin designer until his retirement in 2010. In his post-retirement period, Mercanti has re-invented himself as a spokesman for Goldline and an exclusive signor of novelty insert labels for PCGS.

John Mercanti is a recipient of the American Numismatic Association’s (ANA) coveted Numismatic Art Award for Excellence in Medallic Sculpture.
