A fifteen piece uncirculated gold medal collection once belonging to famed collector Louis Eliasberg has just brought $62,891.88 (with buyer’s premium) at Stack’s Bowers Americana Sale, held in New York.

The set, sold in individual lots, included a possibly unique Lincoln Indian Peace Medal (Lot 91, Realized with BP $15,275), a gold Presidential Medal designed by George T. Morgan (Lot 92, Realized with BP $11,750), an extremely rare 1871 Emancipation Proclamation Medal (Lot 93, Realized with BP $7,050), and a 1909 Lincoln Medal, also designed by Morgan (Lot 94, Realized with BP $8,812.50).

The lot was one of many highlights in the First Session of the Americana Sale. CoinWeek will provide ongoing coverage of the sale in the days ahead.
