For many years, the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) has been a leading authority in grading U.S. coins. While they have also graded world coins since 1990, this area is poised for significant growth.
This video interview, conducted by David Lisot at the February 2011 Long Beach Expo, highlights why PCGS is expanding its focus on world coins and what this means for collectors. It features Mike Sherman, then PCGS Vice President of World Operations, as he discusses the company’s plan to open a Hong Kong office in March 2011, following the opening of their Paris office in 2010. The company views world coins as the primary area for future growth in numismatics for both PCGS and its parent company, Collectors Universe.
