Two years later, The Simpsons premiered as a half-hour series and instantly became a worldwide pop-culture phenomenon, now seen in 60 countries in 20 languages. In 2018, The Simpsons reached an incredible milestone becoming the longest-running primetime scripted show in television history.
Struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.99% pure silver, the coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Government of Tuvalu.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 15,000 of Homer Simpson 2020 1/2oz Silver Colored Coin.
Perth Mint Design
The coin’s reverse portrays a colored image of Homer Simpson smiling in front of his workplace, a nuclear plant, as it expels smoke in the background. The design incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and Matt Groening’s signature.
The coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, the weight and fineness, and the 2020 year-date.

Ian Rank-Broadley’s effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was chosen to appear on the coinage of the United Kingdom in 1998. His design began to appear on collector coins that year and became widespread starting in 1999 (View Designer’s Profile).
