On May 24, 2016, Stack’s Bowers, in association with Sotheby’s, offered the fourth selection of coins from the D. Brent Pogue Family Coin Collection. The 63-coin lot featured a number of important pieces from the collection, including the Pogue’s 1804 dollar and 1822 gold $5 coin. While bids for these coins did not exceed the consignor’s reserve price, the remaining 61 coins sold, many bringing strong or record prices for the issue and condition.
