By Sveriges Riksbank ….

It will soon become possible to make payments with the new 100- and 500-krona banknotes, together with the new 1-, 2- and 5-krona coins. On the same day, between 2:00 and 5:00 pm, members of the public will be able to exchange money for the new 100-krona banknote and the new coins at the Riksbank and visit an exhibition on the new banknotes and coins.

On October 3, members of the public will be welcome to the Royal Bank Of Sweden (Riksbank) in Stockholm to exchange money for the new 100-krona banknote and the new coins. Each visitor will have the opportunity to exchange money for one 100-krona banknote and a selection of coins worth 20 kronor. Payment may only be made in cash, ideally with correct change.

“Now that the final new banknotes and the new coins are being issued, we would like to take the opportunity to invite members of the public to the Riksbank. It will be possible to exchange money for the new 100-krona banknote and the new coins, as well as to visit an exhibition at which our members of staff will be on hand to answer questions on banknotes, coins and security features,” says Stefan Ingves, Governor of the Riksbank.

Changing money and visiting the exhibition

Each visitor may exchange money for one 100-krona banknote and one selection of coins worth 20 kronor, consisting of two 5-krona coins, three 2-krona coins and four 1-krona coins. To ensure as many people as possible are able to exchange their money, we ask you to please pay in cash using the exact amount. The Riksbank will only be open for exchanging money on Monday, October 3 between 2:00 and 5:00 pm at Brunkebergstorg 11 in Stockholm. The exhibition has the same opening hours. For security reasons, those visiting the exhibition will need to show bags and other personal items.

Press conference the same day

A press conference with the Governor of the Riksbank, Stefan Ingves, and Mårten Gomer, Technical Expert, will be held on the same day at 9:30 am at the Riksbank. Press cards must be shown. The press conference will be broadcast live on the Riksbank’s website, www.riksbank.se, where it will also be available to view afterwards.
