The Butte Nugget is a 6.07 pound gold nugget that was discovered in a northern California gold field. The Butte Nugget sold on October 24, 2014 to a San Francisco buyer via a private treaty sale brokered by coin dealer Kagin’s of Tiburon, California. The price reportedly approached $400,000 USD.
