.9999 pure gold adds to the dazzling wonder of fall in this Royal Canadian Mint release celebrating the fall foliage of the Canadian landscape. A thick and knotted tree with sprawling branches fills the coin, its fully-textured leaves are colorized to recreate the natural scene. The coin’s perspective offers a captivating view of the forest canopy from the ground.

Maple Canopy: Kaleidoscope of Colour is a limited-mintage, two-ounce gold coin that carries a face value of CA$250 dollars. The coin was issued in the fall of 2015.

Susanna Blunt’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The queen faces to the left, as is tradition. The designer’s initials “SB” appear on the queen’s right shoulder. The inscription reads ELIZABETH II D ∙ G ∙ REGINA. The effigy is struck in a brilliant finish. The field exhibits curvilinear criss-crossing lines.

In the foreground, the rising trunk of a Canadian Maple tree. Its myriad branches are filled with leaves of green, gold, orange, and red. At the base of the tree is the legend and inscription: CANADA, 250 Dollars, 2016. The artist’s initials “ED” are inscribed on the lowest left branch, next to the rim.
