In separate notices dated December 22, the United States Mint has announced pricing for both the upcoming 2016 Mark Twain Commemorative Coin Program and the 2016 National Parks Service 100th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Program. The announcement addresses only the silver and clad coins from each program; gold coins will be priced according to the Mint’s Numismatic and Commemorative Gold and Platinum Products Pricing Grid.

The potential appeal of the clad National Park Service coins to children visiting United States national parks was mentioned by members of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) as they discussed design candidates for the program. To further garner the interest of possible new coin collectors, some committee members remarked that the price should be kept reasonably affordable.

The 2016 Mark Twain commemoratives are scheduled for release on January 14, 2016; this includes the $5 gold proof and uncirculated coins not listed here. The 2016 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service commemoratives are set for release on March 24. Again, this includes the $5 gold proof and uncirculated issues.
